Global Language Support

With Endcrawl, you can create credits in any language.

Endcrawl’s default fonts cover English and other Western European languages. If your credits use non-Latin characters, however, we’ll help you install a font with the necessary glyph support.

There are a few reasons why your credits might need extra language support.

1. Your Credits Have a Few Non-Latin Characters

In this case, your credits are primarily in a language like English, but there are a few non-Latin characters that require a fallback font:

Primarily English credits with a Japanese song title.

2. Your Credits Have Mostly Non-Latin Characters

In this case, your credits are primarily in a non-Western European language like Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, etc. You’ll need to choose fonts that support that language. We’ll help install the fonts.

Credits for "Bramayugam" in Malayalam.

3. Your Credits are Multilingual

In this case, each individual credit has 3-4 parts and a mix of languages.

Sometimes a Role + Name in a language like Arabic is accompanied by an English translation of both the Role and the Name:

Bilingual credits for "Passing Dreams" (English, Arabic).

Other times, each credit has a Role in English, a Name in a language like Japanese, and an anglicized version of the Name:

Bilingual credits for "Kumiko" (English, Japanese).

Since there are 3-4 parts to each credit instead of the usual Role + Name pair, these projects require some extra setup. Endcrawl will:

  • Enable data entry for the 3-4 parts.
  • Expose separate font styles for each.
  • Help you install fonts.
  • Work with you to decide on one of several multilingual layouts.
